I don't know if I missed it, but you can add Rosehaven also by Catherine Coulter to your list.

I'd put The Earl's Intended Wife in a grey area - he is delirious, she is forced to keep quiet and so can't fight him off. It was certainly not intentional. (*Plausible* is a whole nother can of worms. ;-) )

Love's Revenge
by Jacqueline Ashley HAR 20

Would she have the courage to face love's revenge? "You owe me a child." Those words echoed over and over again in Alicia Farr's mind. When she first met famous author Ian Halsey in New York, she hardly thought she would find herself in his debt--especially for anything as valuable as another life. Yet Ian, known for his sensual writing style, requested that Alicia edit his latest project. He even brought her to his Lake Tahoe retreat to achieve his goal. Alicia only prayed that she could avoid those passion-filled nights she knew they would spend together--if only to protect herself from Ian and the guilt of the past they shared!

Ian raped Alicia at the beginning of the book. She ends up pregnant. Before she finds out that she's pregnant she contacts measles from a friend's child. I believe she was given some type of medication that is harmful to embryos/fetus's. When she finds out about the pregnancy the doctor tells her it's best to abort the baby. Ian finds out about the abortion and forces her to marry him so that he can have a child. He wouldn't listen to her about why she had the abortion.

I don't remember rape in Ashes in the Wind. I do remember she slipped into his bed while he was "ill with fever," but that's it.

Black Lyon by Jude Deveraux.
and it's the only thing that keeps it from being my favorite romance :(

Possibly vanity by Jane Feather, though I'm a little confused as to who drugged the heroine...

The Fountainhead - Ayn Rand

Another whose name/author I can't recall, perhaps someone else will know. The hero is a pirate, she is his captive taken together with her nurse (?) from her father's ship & kept prisoner in the pirate captain's quarters.

"Satan's Mistress" by the late Rachel Cosgrove Payes. Fiona is gang raped by several men, including the hero, Will Huxley.

Hi Jenny,
I try looked up for Love me Miranda but there isn't this book. There are only: Love Me, Marietta and Once More, Miranda both by Jennifer Wilde.
Can you clarify that please?

You are right Rasmey. I must have been in a hurry when I wrote that.
The books are LOVE ME, MARIETTA and ONCE MORE, MIRANDA. I have not read them. They were suggested by other readers.

By the way I have two more books to add which I have read: SWEET SAVAGE EDEN by Heather Graham/Shannon Drake and LADY VIXEN by Connie Mason.

Jenny.

Just read the REBEL BRIDE by Catharine Coulter, which is already on the list. Didn't realize how ofter she's used the theme in her older works.

(Has anyone read the original REBEL BRIDE?
I read the version that was revised in 1994, and I'd love to know if she edited the rape scene at all from the original...Thanks!)

I read the original and the primary difference during the rape is that Coulter expanded slightly more on the "hero"'s feelings in the revised edition. Otherwise, it's pretty much the same.
