When she finds out about the pregnancy the doctor tells her it's best to abort the baby. Ian finds out about the abortion and forces her to marry him so that he can have a child. He wouldn't listen to her about why she had the abortion.


TOO MUCH , TOO SOON by Jaqueline Briskin - Highlight to see a longer spoiler Its about 3 young British sisters living in California. They each fall in love with Curt Ivory, but the oldest sister, Honora, marries him. Her sister Crystal becomes pregnant with his child. Curt and Honora separate, and during the separation he rapes her.

I don't know if I missed it, but you can add Rosehaven also by Catherine Coulter to your list.

I'd put <i>The Earl's Intended Wife</i> in a grey area - he is delirious, she is forced to keep quiet and so can't fight him off. It was certainly not intentional. (*Plausible* is a whole nother can of worms. )

Another whose name/author I can't recall, perhaps someone else will know. The hero is a pirate, she is his captive taken together with her nurse (?) from her father's ship & kept prisoner in the pirate captain's quarters.

"Satan's Mistress" by the late Rachel Cosgrove Payes. Fiona is gang raped by several men, including the hero, Will Huxley.

Just read the REBEL BRIDE by Catharine Coulter, which is already on the list. Didn't realize how ofter she's used the theme in her older works.

(Has anyone read the original REBEL BRIDE?
I read the version that was revised in 1994, and I'd love to know if she edited the rape scene at all from the original...Thanks!)

I read the original and the primary difference during the rape is that Coulter expanded slightly more on the "hero"'s feelings in the revised edition. Otherwise, it's pretty much the same.
