I have to start reading more contemporary romances. I have bunches of them in my TBR pile, but I tend to skip over them and go for the romantic suspense.

I tend to go through phases and this month I caught up on a lot of ongoing contemporary series. Sometimes I'm looking for a slower romance, which tends to be difficult to achieve in the romantic suspense genre since many times the H/h are thrown together and put in peril rather quickly.

I'm amazed myself  Until I started writing it down, I hadn't realized how much I read in a month. I hope I can continue :D

Hi, Robin. I have read several novels by Erica Spindler and can recommend the following: 'Bone Cold', 'Cause For Alarm', 'Killer Takes All' and 'Dead Run'. Her stories lean more to the suspense side, but there is generally a nice love story woven in.

As for Kendra Elliot, the only book of hers I have read is 'Hidden' and I was not particularly impressed. The h started out as likeable, but as the story progressed, she became less so. That being said, I would urge you to try her books--you may enjoy them.

Hi All,

This took quite awhile to fill out and I only had a few books to consider. Wow! to you, Beauty with 24.

Here's what I finally decided on...

What did you think of the books you read in June?

1. How many books did you read? -10 - most of them were audible

2. What genres come to the fore? - Mainstream Suspense Thrillers

3. What was your favorite book of the month? - Hard to choose but because it was such an emotional tearjerker I'll go with... Cemetery Dance by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child (5/09) [Agent Pendergast - 9] (A N/A)

4. What was the worst book you read this month? - The Final Cut by Catherine Coulter and J. T. Ellison (9/13) (C N/A)

5. Who was your favorite book boyfriend in June? - Dawson Scott, compassionate journalist, in Deadline by Sandra Brown (B+ Hot), because he was so good with Amelia's two sons for one thing.

6. Were there any characters you didn't care for? - There were times that Lila made me crazy in The Collector by Nora Roberts (4/1) (B Warm), but I can't really say that I didn't care for her.

7. Who was your favorite villain? - Diogenes in The Book of the Dead by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child (5/06) [Agent Pendergast - 7] [Diogenes Trilogy - 3] (A Subtle)

8. Who was your favorite heroine (kick-ass or not) this month? - Constance Green in The Book of the Dead by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child (5/06) [Agent Pendergast - 7] [Diogenes Trilogy - 3] (A Subtle)
