I was just reading the blurb of a book and the heroine's name is Spring Showers. Seriously? What was the author smoking or drinking? It has to be one of the cheesiest character names ever!

Sounds like a stripper's name!

Did the character have siblings? Rain, Rainbow, Bridal, Baby.....

I'm being completely serious when I say that I knew a girl first name: Sunshine middle name: Raes so this doesn't seem too far fetched to me!

My best friend growing up was named Stormy and her sister's name was Spring. So this is not too far fetched for me either. On my mothers side of the family a lot of the girls names are boys and not just the younger generation, my moms older sisters name is a boys name too. And I had another friend who's name was Sunday and her sister's name was Tuesday.

I'm tired of men's last name of Steel, Rock, Law, etc.--they just seem pretty cheesy.

Also, if an author uses names like Jordan, Chris, and Blake, then it should be noted if they are men or women. I've been confused with this a few times.

Lass Small had one character named Ruffin Reddy.

I knew a guy whose family name was Walker and his parents named him Tennessee. They were in the horse business, so everyone kinda laughed that their kid was named Tennessee Walker.

Oh yeah, I also knew a guy growing up named Essex. Everyone called him Sex. The name fit him though, he was beautiful - dumb as a box of rocks, but gorgeous.
