So I just finished reading "Easy" by Tammara Webber. I had read raves about it and it is currently in the top 4 of 64 books in a book tournament. And....I didn't get why it would it would be such a highly recommended book. I do not want to disparage any author, so I'll not "go there".

So I started to wonder...is it my age (52)? It really would make me sad to think I couldn't appreciate any genre because I am in another place in my life.

Is it the writing? Many of these books are ebooks, published by new authors. I have had the joy of reading so many well-written, outstanding novels. I read "One Duke Deserves a Lover" right before this one and thought it was fantastic! Perhaps in comparison, it just couldn't measure up?

Is it just me? What have you thought about the new NA genre?

I'm in my early 40's and am willing to read the NA genre. Often the heroes are more edgy and darker than in traditionally published romances. That's what works for me.

It is not that I don't want to or am not open to the genre. I really would like to enjoy them. I just want to find a book in the genre that I would say is a 4.5 or 5 star read. Anyone have any suggestions?

Would the Mortal Instraments series be considered NA? If so I rec it.

Contemporary romance NA- here is a link to GoodReads list:

I *think* I have read a couple that are considered new adult, or new young adult?? Not really sure what they are to tell the truth, but they were excellent.

The Sea of Tranquility - Katja Millay - 5 stars & best I've read so far this year IMO.

The Edge of Never - J.A. Redmerski - also 5 stars

Both of these were truly fabulous books that I would recommend to anyone.

I bought my son book 1 of the Chronicles of Nick, which is by Sherrilyn Kenyon and is a YA spin off of the Dark Hunters series. I haven't read a Dark Hunter book since maybe one of the very first books. But these looked insteresting and I'm thinking about reading it myself.

I don't really read much YA myself. Twilight is probably the only ones I've read. I haven't even read The Hunger Games trilogy but my son has read it about 20 times.

He hasn't really given me an update yet on what he thinks of these books.
