Last night I laughed myself silly looking at websites that had Bad romance novel book covers on them.

Favorite sites were: Longmire does Romance Novels (note that there are three pages that come up when you Google that - the "regular" Longmire does Romance Novels, then with "your submissions" and third "Your Naughty submissions"). This website makes funny title name changes (for example, "For the Love of Scottie McMullett").

Christina mentions her own 3-armed heroine on the cover of "Castles in the Air" among others. "Get Lucky" might be my favorite.

also, check out the All About Romance website. When you go to the website (also called likesbooks.com) go to the Reader's Choice pull-down menu and click on Annual Cover contest. Scroll down until you see the box for the All About Romance yearly cover contest.

All the websites are good for some chuckles, snorts and more than a few guffaws. Do not drink anything while looking through these.

O love AAR's annual cover contest! If you are ever having a bad day, and need a good laugh, their bad covers are just great!

It's hard to believe some of these covers, especially with publishers cutting back here and there. Makes me wonder........"what were they thinking?!!??"

Oh you read my mind, there is one that I wanted to post here yesterday, it's actually in the current RT Mag, I think a few pages in, it's an e_book cover on a page on the right hand side, (I can't remember the author/title I was looking at the digital version)

But it was reminiscent of a really BAD Dara Joy e-book cover, blah!!!!

Get Lucky by Suz Brockmann was a COMPLETE shocker, how it got to print I'll never know....

I won a copy of Get Lucky from Suz and it's in mint condition. She wrote inside "Ignore the cover!"

They have recurring bad romance novel cover posts on Book Binge. The letters WTF are used frequently .

I still think these self-published ebooks have the worst covers I've ever seen! I actually bought her first two self-published books and can honestly say the cover of the first book was only slightly worse than the book itself & the cover of the second book and the book were equally horrible. I loved her books that Dorchester published, but if she is actually the author of both them & the self-published ones...she is a perfect example of an author who desperately needs an editor!

I think the first e-books generally had bad covers. I still don't like it when stock photos are used for the covers because I've seen several e-books written by different authors with the same exact cover. (They're not usually horrible, but it's confusing if they all start looking like cookie-cutter books....photo A, photo B, or photo C option depending on the genre.)
