If you're interested, I wrote comments in the Spoiler Zone. It was just OK for me and the more I think about it, it's rating is going down.

Thanks for the warning so I can avoid the spoiler board as I haven't read it yet. The school year is winding down and I don't have much time to read.

I'm going to wait to read the comments. I've been looking forward to reading it and I want to go into it with an open mind.

Hi All,

I was just checking my reading diary and see that I cut the series loose after reading the 4th book in March 2007, Lover Revealed.

My personal ratings were okay but I'm thinking it was the 5th book with Casper-like character that turned me off going forward.

Black Dagger Brotherhood
1. Dark Lover (9/05) (B+ Warm+)
2. Lover Eternal (3/06) (C Hot+)
3. Lover Awakened (9/06) (B+/A- Hot)
4. Lover Revealed (3/07) (B+ Burning)

Reading the Spoiler board, I'm not unhappy that I moved on with other authors and books.

I think most fans felt the same Janie, 1st 4 books were great, they followed a pattern, had a good continuing storyline and then with the 5th book and the stupid ending it all went down hill from there.
I moved on too and found some better authors to follow.

I actually thought this one was OK once you got farther into it. There were a lot of plotlines/characters going at once. I thought she could have dumped some & put some into the next book(s) and made this one shorter & more concise. When you have a "cast of thousands" story, it can get confusing (I kept having to stop & try & remember who the heck some of them were & how they fit in.) I also think she's getting to the bottom of the barrel in naming her characters...S'Ex.....really??? She also had her characters speak in "Text" abbreviations (and made up word abbreviations) several times which really annoyed me. Again, there were several times when I had to stop & try and figure them out which really disrupted the flow for me. I started skimming past that stuff & when it was just Beth & Wrath and the Brotherhood fighting to keep Wrath as king, it was really good. So, I'll probably keep reading them & hope she gets back to what made the first ones terrific.
