This is a "reissue of a book that she wrote years ago. I think her writing has improved over the years and so has her plot development. However, this was an enjoyable book for me. This is a revenge tale. The heroine was gangraped by 3 young men when she was 18. It's set when it was written so there aren't cellphones and other modern conveniences -- I can't remember whether computers are in it at all. I laughed when one of the characters was talking about Kid Icarus for Nintendo. My oldest son was about 8 when that came out LOL (and it's a great game). So if you read it as a late "historical" you can get past this stuff.

Some of the Amazon comments said it was trashy and soft porn. I've read worse but it's graphic. Not the rape so much but the scenes with the hero. I actually thought those scenes were kind of romantic!

The best part of the book for me was the revenge -- I loved it! If you can accept it's a "vintage" Sandra Brown, you'll enjoy it. Kind of like Slow Heat in Heaven in the feel of it IMHO. The plots are disimilar though.

I have always loved reading Sandra Brown's books. But I do have to laugh because to me, she is the most dated author, sometimes to the point of being cheesy. However, if you can look past that, she still writes a good romance. Many, many years ago, when I first started reading her books, she was the first author that I thought was pretty racy and scandalous with her sex scenes. Now days, the books I read leave her books in the dust with the sex. I agree her recent books are very good. Hello Darkness is one of my all time favorite suspense/romance books. I know I read Breath of Scandal, but can't quite place it...who were the hero and heroine?

I just recently read this book and loved it!
The rape scences in my opinion were not to graphic.
