Do any of you know if she has written more contemporary romances? I remember reading The Spiral Path, which in my opinion is one of the best books I ever read. Then she wrote another but I think she went back to writing historical.

I,too, liked her contemporary series. They are:
The Burning point 2002
The Spiral Path 2002
Twist of Fate 2003
There were characters that could have had other stories, but maybe the series was not popular enough for the publisher to let her finish it.
Guess that we will never know the rest of the story. Too bad.

I just had a quick look on Fantastic Fiction and they mention a novella (e-book) either called The Holiday Fling/The Christmas Fling/Highland Fling as part of the series you mentioned.
The titles of the other books in the series have been changed as well! Go figure.

It is apparently only one novella with different titles! Confusing much?

Yes, it is confusing. I looked it up, and realized I had read the MJP novella listed and That the others were by other authors. Oh well, that is the fate of readers, we are at the mercy of the publishing industry. They decide what we like to read, and too bad if it isn't. I just like a good story and wish I could find more of them these days.

I liked MJP's contemporaries, too. She posted on a blog recently and I asked her if she will be writing anymore contemporaries. Mary Jo said that she received a lot of negative comments from readers that didn't like the subject matter of her books. Though it was upsetting to her, that's not why she stopped. MJP said the sales just weren't good enough to continue in the genre.

I'm sure if they would have promoted them she would have found an audience. They were very good books. Too bad she gave up so easily.

I agree that she should have tried to finsh up and give the rest of the characters their story.
As to the subject matter, things like that go on in every city, I thought she handled it well. Maybe it was a bit far-fetched, but after all, it is romance. and we got our HEA.
