I feel as if everything I have read lately has been just so, okay, nothing really great... Is anyone waiting for some really great book coming up? Anything you are looking forward to bookwise so I can get a list going? :?: Thanks in advance of all those great books I know you will tell me about.

I just bought Kresley Cole's latest Shadow Claim.
Kristin Ashley has a new ebook out.

Hope this helps.

wellread--I read a LOT of RS and new-to-me author Allison Leotta has a series featuring Assistant U.S. attorney Anna Curtis, who specializes in domestic violence cases. Ms. Leotta is a former federal sex-crimes prosecutor so she knows what she writes. I read an excerpt from her debut title, 'Law of Attraction', and was hooked from the git-go :D . The second book is titled 'Discretion' (already released) and the third, 'Speak of the Devil', is due in August 2013. I realize that only 1 of these 3 books is 'upcoming' but I thought if you had not read this author, you might find her books better than 'just so, okay'.

Now, for the 'upcoming' books I am looking forward to:

'The Seventh Victim' Mary Burton (due 02/05/13)
'Sworn to Protect' Jo Davis (due 05/07/13)
'Reflection Point' Emily March (due 03/26/13)
'Midnight Secrets' Ella Grace (due 04/30/13)
'Did You Miss Me?' Karen Rose (due 02/05/13)
'Obsession' Debra Webb (due 03/26/13)
'Impulse' Debra Webb (due 03/26/13)
'Power' Debra Webb (due 03/26/13)
'Dying to Tell' Rita Herron (due 12/25/12)

I hope you get a lot of responses and find something that tweaks your interest.

Same here. :?

What I am read now I am comparing next to EVERYTHING by Kristen Ashley..... and coming up short. :|

I mean I just finished Rapture by JR Ward, my previous fave author (now bumped  ) and I just did not "feel" the main characters, I read them but there was no pull in feeling.

So I am doing a lot of KA re-reads.... although going simple too by reading Notorious Nineteen by Janet Evanovich, to try and "simplify" my expectations some what...

I blame Erika! for her original how d'ya do to KA...

Just remembered another ebook author. Reasonably priced. R.L. Mathewson.

Erika, is there a particular R.L. Mathewson book you'd recommend?

I, too, feel like there's no surprises left in my reading. I've been rereading my Kristen Ashley ebooks, and that's kept me going for a couple months now. But she is a very good price for the length of book she writes.

At the bookstore yesterday, I talked myself out of a book that was $8.00 but only had 294 pages. Maybe that's being cheap, but maybe that's why I can't find something new?

Erika,
Apologies for getting a bit off topic. I'm probably one of the few people left on the planet that hasn't read KC's IAD series. I also picked up Shadows Claim thinking since it's a new spin-off series that it would give me the opportunity to check out her writing. On her website, she says all the books are standalones, but after checking out a few other sites, they appear to be almost "joined at the hip" so to speak. If you have read her IAD series, do you think I would be totally lost starting with this book? I see she has quite an extensive backlist! Thanks! :D

I have slupmed so much this year....I will be lucky to have read 60 books by year end. I honestly think it's because I've ready read every trope out there and nothing is fresh and new anymore.

However, I read an ARC of Linda Howard/Linda Jone's new book Running Wild and it was awesome. Linda Howard back doing what she does best - suspense with a healthy dose of romance.

Since then, I have read new books in series by Jill Shalvis, Roxanne St. Claire and Susan Mallery that are all my favorite standbys, and their new additions to their series were all very good. I am in the middle of Lindsay McKenna's new book too, and really enjoying that series. She writes great suspense with lots of romance.

What I am not liking are the RS authors who are basicallyhave turned to just suspense and left the romance by the side of the road. They have all come off my auto buy list, and sadly they number quite a few. :(

I gave it 5 out of 5

I read Playing for Keeps. I've been meaning to read her other ones but got distracted.

These publishers are missing out on more readers w/their high prices making some readers reluctant on buying new to them authors and their backlist.

I've seen some ebooks priced at 4.99 w/50 pages! Ridiculous.

I haven't read every book in this series and am able to keep up w/the plot.

I really loved A Hunger Like No Other. I read a few more but since I'm not fond of kickass heroines I read the IAD books which don't have them.

I think you may want to try reading the earlier books in this series and if you are the type of reader who must read every book in a series then get them all.

Yeah, the heroes are what attracted me to KA. Wish there was a trend where uber alpha heroes were easier to find.

I'm reading UtSfftS now. I like WEIA better.
I want the heroine from the first book to make the hero work harder for her and not collapse everytime she feels desire for the hero afterall she's 40 and resisted for years the fate her family planned for her!

Thanks, Erica. I'll try Playing for Keeps.

I also blame you for turning me on to KA! The way she writes just makes me wish I could meet all those people.

Thanks Erika, I thought it was just me with the Until characters, I started it about a month ago, and am only now at 89% read  But peeps have been raving about WEIA, so I thought I'd better finish it.

What did you think of the Fantasyland series, I started one on smashwords, and not sure yet...

Oh yeah I thinking I have a R.L's - Playing for Keeps on my kindle somewhere too, that's the only thing about the Kindle not easy to quick glance my TBR pile.... and so i forget what I have....

I'm skeptical about book ravers until I am one ofcourse then I see what the raving is all about

I've only read Golden Dynasty...wow a hero who's a true barbarian! I liked it just for that. Unique.

Yeah, I wish Kindle would have the ability to allow a reader to see books they've read and not read, so easy. A scroll down to click on.
