Hello Everyone,

I hope everyone is keeping cool -- Klass I'm coming to visit you. We're finally going to get some relief from the heat on Sunday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Because of the storm that came through the Chicagoland area last Sunday we lost our power until early Wednesday morning. I was never so grateful to have a generator in my life - we were able to run our refrigerator and air. This Saturday is our family picnic and Sunday I plan on doing nothing.

I just started reading Echoes at Dawn by Maya Banks so far it's catching my interest. Earlier I finished up Big Sky Country by Linda Lael Miller it was okay. I have no idea what I'm going to read next.

Any plans this weekend? What are you reading?

Keep cool everyone!

No power for several days is awful...so glad you had a generator!

It's still hotter than hades here in Southern Indiana...though Monday it is supposed to be 82...pull out the sweats and blankets! Until then...we will stay inside and enjoy the AC.

I read A Million Suns this week. It is the 2nd book in a trilogy...the first was Across the Universe. It was a good read and my step-daughter is also reading the series and so we can talk about it...which is fun.

I'm currently reading The Island by Elin Hilderbrand. This is my first one by her and it isn't too bad. After this one...now sure what I'll pick up...goodness knows that I have plenty to pick from.

Sadly, my weekend plans are to attend the funeral of the woman that lived next door to us (and still lives next door to my parents). She was like a grandma for me and my sister...so tomorrow will be a sad day. Sunday I will probably just relax all by myself. My husband has to return his children to their mother and mine will be on the golf course with his grandpa. He practically lives on the course.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! Happy reading!

Well, it's hot here too. Supposed to be 101 degrees here in SW Ohio. Really tired of this!

I am currently reading BEAUTIFUL SACRIFICE by Elizabeth Lowell and a Silhouette Desire that I had laying around called ROYAL SEDUCER by Michelle Celmer. I hope to finish both over the weekend. I was ready to give up on ROYAL SEDUCER until a bit of intrigue was introduced and now I want to see what happens.

Not too much going on except staying out of the heat and picking my husband up whenever he gets back into town.

Have a nice weekend.

Amie

It's a long weekend for me and I'm planning on staying indoors and in the air conditioning. Way too hot to be doing anything outside. The mowing can wait till next week.

I am reading Time Was by Nora Roberts and I'm almost finished. I have Times Change waiting to read later this month. Not sure what I'll pick up next. I have a bunch of kindle books that I should read. A good suspense story sounds good too. I'll have to start digging and see what catches my interest.

It's 103 degrees here today - forth day in a row; another reason summer is my least favorite season.

Starting Between by Mary Ting, finishing Vampire Hunt by Tim O'Rourke and Fall from Grace by Ciara Knight. Also starting the new book Erin Kellison book - Fire Kissed.

HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE!!

We are going to be around 90 over the next couple days and then up closer to 100 - summer has finally arrived. :?

I am currently listening to VISIONS IN DEATH by JD Robb and it is a great book. I just LOVE this series!!

I just finished up DRAGON WARRIOR by Janet Chapman and I really enjoyed this one too. I have enjoyed everything that Janet Chapman has written. I'm hoping I can find the next in the series MYSTICAL WARRIOR, I know I have it here somewhere, but my books are a messing right now and I made the mistake of staking them
with the titles to the wall, yeah - dumb move. :?

Family dinner planned tonight (it's my birthday) and then friends are taking me out to dinner tomorrow night. So I am going to enjoy the good company and good food.

Hi everyone. Happy Birthday Gypsy..... hope you have fun on your BD!!!!
I planned a very quiet weekend but am now sitting here listening to my brother in law and friend drilling in my kitchen. A very old pipe started leaking and they are fixing it. My house if very old and things are starting to go piece by piece or so it seems. As long as I have someone to help and a Home Depot charge card, I am ok with it. I also get to learn some really bad words while they are doing the job. Words that I will only use when I hit my thumb or stub my toe or hurt myself where it makes you feel better by saying something bad. Well it works for me!

I just finished Terrified by Kevin O'Brien. It was a very good book about an abused wife who fakes her own death and her husband being accused of being a serial killer called the Butcher. Really edge of your seat reading.

Not sure what is next.... I have a couple of cozy mysteries that I picked up from the library... am waiting to get a copy of the 2nd book in the 50 Shades series.

Have a nice weekend and try to stay cool.

Hi,

The forecast today is 99 degrees for NJ and the morning is already in the 80's. I just finished reading Susan Mallery's Barefoot Season which I greatly enjoyed.
The main protagonists are two women who were formerly best friends, but their friendship was destroyed ten years ago. Now they have to come to terms with their life choices. This is a very original novel with well-developed characters. And yes there is romance!

I'm reading Jeaniene Frost's One Grave At A Time. Her new book Once Burned is our book club book so I'm catching up on her series.

Hello everyone. I am reading SCANDALOUS DESIRES by Elizabeth Hoyt. I have THIEF OF SHADOWS waiting in the wings.

I am so tired of series books. Can't anyone write a stand-alone anymore?

That book is annoying the heck out of me with all the emphasis on the "Irish accents." OK, I get the point.

Hubby is off to Northern Michigan for a week to vacation with his family. randi, I thought about you as I decided NOT to go. His 95 year old Godmother is there and on every outing who gets left behind with her? Yes, me.

I am staying inside with the AC and reading and relaxing.

Have a great weekend everyhone.

Lindy - I so agree with the series books. I long for a stand alone so I don't have to go back and read the synopsis (synopsi? who knows) of the previous books.
Well Ladies, its officially the wettest summer (so far) since records began. In the Midlands yesterday one months worth of rain fell in 24 hours!!! And there are flooding alerts for a load of places. Here in the S East it hasn't been too bad but you can't plan a BBQ etc as most days it looks threatening.
I finished Scandal In Satin by Loretta Chase yesterday and I enjoyed it although being a trilogy (I think) I had to go back and remind myself of the first book. No sign of Leonies story coming out.
I have been culling my books all this week and I reckon I have got rid of about 600. I know one whole bookcase is now empty. Its such a shame I can't take them to a dedicated romance bookstore but they don't exist in the UK (as far as I am aware). Its bad enough trying to find a bookstore that sells new romance books.
Well, rant over.
At least we have a couple of Wimbledon matches to look forward to. A Brit is in the Mens Doubles final (on at the moment so I'm half watching it) and Andy Murray is the first Brit for 74 years to reach the Mens final tomorrow. Go Murrary! And the Olympics are looming large.
Have a good one Ladies.
Sheila

I am currently reading Waking Up In The Wrong Bed by Natalie Anderson and then An Escapade and an Engagement by Annie Burrows beckons.

I have SCANDAL IN SATIN to read soon. Alas, I don't remember too much about the previous books in the series.

I did watch the Ladies final from Wimbledon this morning. It came on TV here at 9: AM. Glad to see Serena won. She is at the end of her tennis career.

I feel sorry for Andy Murray as he has alot of pressure on him as Tim Henmen (sp) did a few years ago.

I am very lucky as there is a wonderful Used book store near by that carries thousands of Romance novels. It is BOOKS GALORE in Watkinsville, Ga. Yes, I live in a small town and I love it!

Yep sure Danielle you can come visit. (As I sit here wrapped in blanket in front of the heater!)

If I could post a picture of my dog on her bed. She doesn't have a kennel so I threw an old doona over her last night, checked her when I go up this morning, she hasn't moved!! She has made her own little dog house, klassic.

Other that that finishing of the last of Kristen Ashley's Rock chick, then think I need a palette re-fresh and will read a historical.

Have a three hour Inversion Yoga workshop today, lots of upside down Miss Jane poses, should be fun.

Anyone else worried about the supposed internet virus that's supposed to hit on Monday, for some strange reason I keep getting a box telling me my google settings have changed (never seen it before). Think I'm going to remove Google and re-download. If my computer fritzes I guess my plans to get an iMac moves up the schedule, as long as I have my music.

I'm late posting this. Busy weekend with my birthday on Sunday. We went out to dinner tonight and I have no idea what I'm doing tomorrow. Hopefully nothing -- I want to read. I'm reading Lori Wilde's book. The first one in the cowboy series and I don't even know the name. I'm loving it though. My sister gave me a give card for Amazon so I'm looking forward to downloading some books.

I am so sick of the heat and humidity. Ugghhh. Thanks to it, I had a/the migraine from hell on Wednesday. :( The fireworks from hell throughout my neighborhood did not help.

I am reading A HINT OF SCANDAL by Jennifer Haymore.

Stay cool one and all. :)

Hey all!

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July!

I'm currently reading Thunder on the Plains by Rosanne Bittner. It's the first novel I'm reading by Bittner...I'm not to far into it yet, but so far so good.

Just finished Heat Rises by Alice Gaines. Loved this novella. Very spicy and an enjoyable read. Actually read it twice I loved it so much!

Not much else going on this weekend. Trying to get stuff done around the house since I'm expecting company soon.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

This week I finished Wicked Edge by Nina Bangs - excellent! Trips to the Castle of Dark Dreams are always so much fun, especially after waiting nearly 2 1/2 years for this new book.

Then, on to Can't Buy Me Love by Molly O'Keefe, another excellent book. Somewhere this was touted as a new book, by a new author but it's not. She has written a ton of Harlequins, and this is her first full length book. There is sequel to this one coming out in a month or two. Can't wait! I am not a fan of the shorter Harlequin length books, so I sure hope she continues on the full length book route. She sure can spin a great story.

Otherwise, cooled off today a bit. Plus, it's been one of those weeks - family issues. I can add a couple of chapters to Randi's book, and there are only 5 of us total!
