OMG! I can't believe how time is flying. June is over.

For those of us who live in the U.S.A. --

Happy 4th of July!

I hope everyone is keeping cool this past week and in the weeks coming up. It's been extremely hot and humid here and yesterday I had no problem staying in my pool all day.

No plans this weekend except trying to stay cool and yes I will be in the pool.

I finished Johanna Lindsey's new book Let Love Find You -- it was just okay. I'm currently reading Desire Becomes Her by Shirlee Busbee so far it's pretty good. I have no idea what I'm going to read next maybe a book by Kristen Ashley!

Any plans this weekend? What are you reading?

Keep Cool!

Happy weekend all and Happy July 4th!

This weekend is our last big swim meet of the year so we'll be tied up with that.

Otherwise, it's just hot hot hot here.

I'm reading the new James Rollins book, Bloodline. It's pretty good so far, but that's to be expected. I love that he's brought in some fresh new characters.

I'm reading This Side of the Grave by Jeaniene Frost. I will meet her tomorrow night at a book signing!!

Sunday I'm going to hear my cousin's band play. They are becoming successful and have opened for country singer Josh Turner!

I'm currently reading Lucy Wagner Gets In Shape, by Claire Matthews I'm loving it so far it's a romantic comedy my favorite genre. Also reading another Nick Spalding book Life On A High, written during an airplane trip he took to Australia.

It's hot! Too hot for me to do much outside, so.... Yes! I get to stay in and read. I have so many books on my TBR stack that I can't wait to get to. I am going on a party cruise on Lake Michigan tomrrow, then I have 3 days off to read. Right now I am finishing "A Rogue by Any Other Name" by Sarah Maclean, it's ok. I will probably read Something Old, Something New by Beverly Jenkins.

Stay Cool and read :D

Happy 4th of July to all of the USA readers!

Typical hot summer weather for the 4th too, seemingly all accross the United States. We have had a break in the huidity for a day or two, but not the heat. At least for now it's back in to the bearable stage!

I have been reading Nina Bangs latest in the Castle of Dark Dreams series, Wicked Edge and loving it. Been awhile since she has released a Dark Dreams book, and I absolutely love that crown of wacky characters. Not sure what is up next, but with this last new release Tuesday I have 6 new books, all from favorite authors waiting for me.

My cousin is home from California this weekend, so will spend some time with him and the family. Other than that, reading!

Everyone have a great weekend and 4th!

Besides keeping cool this weekend I have a baptism to go to for twins. They are my nieces and they are so adorable. Nothing else and I'm thinking of going to a movie tomorrow just to do something out of the house that's cool (and I mean temperature). I finally finished Beautiful Sacrifice last night (my review is listed below) and I'm looking forward to starting The Line Between Here and Gone by Andrea Kane. I can't believe I got my library copy for my Kindle already!

It also very hot here and our long weekend because of Canada Day on Sunday.

I finally got my hands on Elizabeth Elliott's book, "The Dark Knight". I've waited so long for another book by her, I hope my expectations aren't too high. Anyone else read this?

Have a great weekend and a happy 4th!

Just returned from my DD's graduation from Grad school. (UOPortland) YAY! While away had a chance to go to Powell's Bookstore (I go there whenever I'm in Portland) to pickup a few books & trinkets. Love that store.
Had a blast going over to Vancouver, Canada... visited with family in Washington then took a trip to L.A. for some Disneyland, Hollywoodland & Universal fun. I'm wiped out!

Can't wait to start reading again. Next up I think will be "Dire Deeds" by Stephanie Tyler. What do I say~ A Dire-wolf on a Harley....smokin'!

Happy 4th of July coming up!

I have a friend visiting from the U.K. (whom I met from this here RT boards- see how awesome this place is!) and she's been coming to Hawaii for years now.

Love you gals. Happy Reading!

Hi guys! It's been forever since I've posted here, life just has just been so busy. :) I'm getting ready for another HOT weekend. Whew, I wish I had a pool. I need to get my place ready for company, my mom, sister, and her brood are coming over to Michigan to visit from Wisconsin, as is a host of other family members--my cousin is marring a girl from the town I currently live in, it's a small world. My family is from about 10hrs away...they met in the Army.

No one has seen my new house, as we just moved in April, so I'm excited for all to come see. :D

I'm sure I'll squeeze some reading in, I think I might read Mia Marlowe's Lord of Fire and Ice

It is a small world! Two weeks ago while I was searching for a tour company rep to pick me up at Heathrow I heard my named announced. The rep was having me paged. We joined a group of students from my area. Wednesday I flew with those same students from Toronto to Nashville.

In Paris our airport shuttle driver picked up a man from Oregon who told us his parents are buried in Kentucky.

Happy Weekend and 4th of July! Due to the heat...we have a burn ban so the only fireworks we'll be having will be the ones we can watch on t.v.

Today we took the kids to Lincoln City...where President Lincoln lived when he lived here in Indiana. We followed that with another round at Holiday World. We spent most of our time in the wave pool at the water park. We didn't mind the 106 degree temp when we were in the water or wet. We had a blast all both places.

I've been reading Night Keepers by Jessica Anderson and will finish it up tonight so that I can count it toward my June total. I will have to see if I can pick the others up on my next trip to Half Price Books.

Tomorrow looks to be a lazy day...maybe a little cleaning and a little laundry.

Have a wonderful week and stay cool!

Sarah

Happy 4th July to my American friends. I don't hold it against you LOL!!!
ameliad - are you back from the UK? I would love to hear how you got on. Sorry about the weather!
Yes, the weather here has been atrocious. The wettest spring since records began. Some days are nice but showers are not far behind.
For some reason I am 'off' longer books so I have been reading Mills & Boon (17 last month!) and have re-discovered The Mammoth Book of Regency Romance so I've been reading novellas in that by authors such as Lorraine Heath, Caroline Linden, Emma Wildes etc.
Oh, I did read Tiffany Clares Surrender of A Lady. Different. The h is sold into a harem by her dissolute husband and the the H (a previous suitor) finds her on an auction block. Interesting and I would give the heat rating a scorcher although I wouldn't call it erotica.
I have also been sorting through Mt TBR and decided to get rid of a load of books that I know I will not read if I live to be 100! Mostly westerns, medievals and ones I just don't fancy any more. They will be going off to a charity shop.
I have nothing planned except the ongoing sorting out of cupboards etc for my planned downsizing next year.
Have a good one, Ladies.
Sheila

Unfortunately I had bronchitis just before the trip and the dampness in London didn't help me. At least Paris was dryer!! We saw Les Miserables and We Will Rock You. We also visited The Tower, Windsor Castle and Stratford Upon Avon. Included were theatre workshops at The Globe and The National Theatre. It was a packed week!!

Am anxiously awaiting the family coming home from camp. I didn't go because it would have been way to hot for me to enjoy anything. I really don't do well in 100 degrees. They sounded like they had a blast so I will be regaled with stories. It gave me a taste of living with no one around to visit and I did find it lonely. My friends all work and the days I didn't I had to fill up with interesting things to do.

I read Fifty Shades of Grey in 2 days. I am shocked at myself for liking this story so much. I didn't think I would really care for it. It reminded me of a regency in a way and I like Ana and Christian. I felt sorry for him. I sure as heck learned a lot about sex and toys and things that I will never use in my life.... but, at least I am not as naive as I was before. Not that any of this would ever come up in my everyday conversations??? You are never too old to learn. It is true!

I am in the middle of Terrified by Kevin O'Brien. I keep having to read something else... like Save Me by Lisa Scottoline for book club.... what a lively discussion we had and it lasted over an hour. Then 50 Shades belonged to someone else and I had to have it back to her. She is on the 2nd book and will give it to me next. So I was reading the 3 books around the same time....

Have a nice holiday everyone and stay safe.

I attended my niece's wedding yesterday and it was hot! (27C). It was held on their farm about 2 hours away and it was a beautiful setting.

Today is is pouring rain here in the city and I hope to finish reading Once Burned: A Night Prince novel by Jeaniene Frost.

I am so sorry you had a bit of a miserable time. I bet it wasn't fun flying with bronchitis, either.
Sounds like you had a busy week.

Hello everyone! We had our family beach vacation last week. We had a great time returning home to scorching temps. 107 here yesterday and more today. THE AC is running constantly. At the beach I read ONE NIGHT IN LONDON by Caroline Linden. It is book #1 in the series and I had already read book #2 BLAME IT ON BATH. I gave them a good A rating. Now I am reading MIDNIGHT ANGEL by Lisa Kleypas . An oldie and a re-read.Now I remember why I wasn't crazy about it the first time. The hero is 34 with a 12 year old daughter and the heroine is only 18.

Stay cool everyone!
