Well I finally read it and I looooooooved it. I actually liked it better than Christmas in Friday Harbor (or whatever the name was). It has a touch of magic in it which I loved. Sam, the hero, was just tortured enough and geeky enough to make him extremely sexy. Lucy, the heroine was extremely likeable to me and not at all stupid. Well except for her original boyfriend and almost everyone has had stupid boyfriends at one time or another. There are a bunch of endearing secondary characters that I'd like to get to know better, namely the biker boys from Hog Heaven LOL.

There's a sample of Dream Lake at the end. It's Alex's story and looks to be really good so I can't wait.

I am moving this to the top of the TBR heap! It sounds really good.

I read it for free and was a little disappointed in it. LK is a great writer as evidenced by the fact that she can adjust her writing style to fit the latest trends. It just felt bland to me. I love Sarah Addison Allen and was hoping this would be sillmilar. LK's work is truly a romance novel whereas SAA's work is rich and complex.

If a romance novel with a TOUCH of magic is what you're looking for then you might find it enjoyable. I thought it was overpriced and was glad it was free. I will check out the rest of the series tho.

It did have a great ending.

I loved this book, and a touch of magic is all you get. I put off reading it when some people described this as a paranormal - not even close. It is a romance book, which is what I read - romance in all forms.

A contemporary purist may not like the magic aspect, but for those who read heavy duty paranormals such as JR Ward and Kenyon, all you get here is a touch. And there is a reason behind it, that if you can suspend your imagination enough, is fun.

FYI Linda - that sister belondgs high on the list of worst ever sisters! And the boyfriend on a similar worst ever boyfriend list somewhere! Hey - maybe there is a RT list for these categories, I will check and see!!!
