Hi Everyone. I'm trying to remember the name of a book, but the plot points are kind of fuzzy. Here's what I can recall:

    - contemporary romance
    - woman rents/buys a cabin (possibly in Alaska) over the internet
    - cabin in much worse condition than she expected
    - her closest neighbor, a reclusive tech mogul, rescues her one night after something (fire, flood, bear attack??) happens and chemistry ensues.

Other possible hints (these seem right, but i may be combining plot points)
    - she might have originally lived in New York.
    - decision to move may have been somewhat impulsive.
    - may be part of a series where she decides to move to the wilderness after her sister gets married.
    - she may also have some nasty people after her (but might not realize it).

And that's all i can remember. Any ideas? thank you for any help!!

Could the book you are looking for be 'Midnight Sun' by Kat Martin? This was an installment in the Sinclair sisters trilogy and a very good read.

Could it be Kiss and Tell by Cherry Adair?

I read it years ago, but remember a seemingly rundown cabin, but with hi-tech inside. The H had a lot of patents for high tech

Hi, It's been a long time since I have read this series and this might not be the book your looking for. The h does live in a cabin in Alaska and he saves her from a fire one night. I think she went back into the fire to retrieve a figurine that the H had bought her. I can't remember if he lived next door to her or not. He was a pilot and she was the new secretary at his families bush charter service.

Falling for Him (Midnight Sons) by Debbie Macomber.

Hard Luck, Alaska—a Town that Needs Women!

Location: 50 miles north of the Arctic Circle. Population: 150 (mostly men)—but growing! Because the O'Halloran brothers, who run a bush-plane charter service called Midnight Sons, are heading a campaign to bring women to Hard Luck!

Christian O'Halloran—The youngest O'Halloran brother. Charming, handsome, clever. He loves the company of women—but please keep him away from Mariah Douglas! She's the secretary at Midnight Sons and she drives him crazy. She loses his messages, misplaces his files and generally creates chaos around him. What he can't understand is why no one else has a problem with her. And why, despite everything, he can't get her out of his mind….

Mariah Douglas—Life in Alaska is an adventure for her. For the first time, she's taking risks, learning about survival, making new friends. Falling for Christian O'Halloran is an adventure, too—one that her heart might not survive!

Your description reminded me of this book. Like I said it might not be the one you are looking for but there was similarities.

Happy Reading,

Sassy
