One of today's Daily Deals on my Kindle is 'Beach House No. 9' by Christie Ridgway. I downloaded the sample and was immediately in deja vu territory. The h, a Marian-the-Librarian-type book doctor, is dispatched to ensure that the author H meets his book's deadline. He appears to be a party-animal with no interest in finishing his tome.

I KNOW I have read a very similar book in the past and, for the life of me, I cannot remember its title or author. I read a lot of RS, so I think it would probably fall under that umbrella. I remember the h being very serious and the H making fun of her because of that. For some reason, Michele Albert comes to my mind as the author, but I do not think that any of her books I have read have had this storyline.

I really hope someone knows the author and book title I am looking for. I know it will bug the heck out of me until I know :) .

Loved the Beach House series, but had similar deja-vu feeling. Did you ever figure out the name of the other book?

The only book I can think of is Open Season by Linda Howard

Echidna, I have not yet figured out what book this is.

Sadly, Daisymau, 'Open Season' is not the book I am looking for, although it was a great read.

It sounds a little like Heaven, Texas by Susan Elizabeth Phillips where Gracie is recruited to get Bobby Tom Denton on the straight and narrow.

Lynnelf--By jingo, I believe you have solved the puzzle. Thanks so much. I read so many books, storylines get jumbled up in my mind and it is difficult to remember titles.
