Hello !
I'm looking for an old Harlequin I read in French, so I can't tell which collection it can be. Here is what I can remember :

-the story takes places in Japan
-the heroine's father work with/for the hero, or he owes money to the hero
-a marriage is arranged to take care of some problem (that why I think money is involved)
-the heroine is livid with this arrangement. She must meet the hero for the first time in a restaurant, and she comes dressed in geisha (with white and red make-up, so her father is horrified)
-the hero thinks she has had many lovers when in fact she is a virgin
-they don't consummate the marriage at first (I think he wants her to come to him)
-one night she comes to his bed (I don't remember why), and stops after kissing him, saying she doesn't know what to do next (her being a virgin and all), and he says something like "okay, but don't tell me were you do that normally" (him being prejudiced and all). So she becomes angry and says she will have the marriage canceled for non consummation. He then says he won't allow it and so they make love.
-I think he arranged the marriage because he saw her picture and fall in love

Does it ring any bell for you?

I took the liberty of posting your book search here:

LLCSpokane on goodreads suggests:

IMPRUDENT CHALLENGE by Jessica Steele

Kelsey could never marry a man like Serle

Serle Falconer had hurt her father--led him to financial ruin--and destroyed her parents' marriage.

In Japan to visit her father, Kelsey lost no time in finding Mr. Calconer and telling him what a swine she thought he was. So he couldn't seriously want to marry her.

The marriage proposal, sent by a go-between in the traditional Japanese style, was nothing more than a cruel practical joke designed to pay her back for insulting him.

Angered, Kelsey decided two could play that game. Maybe she'd just call his bluff and accept his proposal...

You are welcome. Let us know if that wasn't it.

I'll consider it solved until then.
